VINTAGE 1967/68 McCOY COALBY/COLBY CAT COOKIE JAR What a fantastic estate find, found in the back of a garage hidden by other things. A little history for my bidders and the curiosity seekers. The Nelson McCoy Sanitary Stoneware Company waslocated in Roseville, OH in 1910 and was founded by Nelson McCoy and his father J. W. McCoy. They began to manufacture and sell functional and decorative stoneware. During the 40's, 50's and 60's they started producing their line of cookie jars. By 1990 the company stopped making products. The cookie jar you are bidding on is a rare Colby/Coalby cat. The jar is marked USA with the number 207 on the bottom of the jar. The jar stands 11" tall, the base at the widest part is 5" with the opening for your cookies is 3 3/4". The jar is in great condition. T does appear to be to small chips on the inside of the lid, but these are the same color of the rest of the underside of the lid so they are either old chips that have discolored with the rest of the underside due to age of the jar or could possibly be from the time it was made. But these are not noticable in the pictures. The collector of cookie jars or even McCoy pottery knows what this jar is worth. I list all my items at a low price and with no reserve. I let the bidders decide the value of my items. So Please look at all pictures and read more
