is a simply gorgeous vintage animated musical cigarette (or lipstick) carousel. It is 12 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" diameter at the base. You wind up the key at the bottom, and when you press the button on the side it plays The Blue Danube Waltz and simultaneously opens up the 6 doors, they rotate, seat themselves open for a second or two, showing the velvet lined gilt metal cigarette holders, then the doors rotate closed. The glass is a dramatic deep cobalt blue with elegant gold floral designs. The figural feet are wonderful - I originally assumed they were the devil, but I am now sure they are the Greek god Pan. It is marked "Made in Italy" and "Brevettato" on the bottom. I have never seen a musical carousel in such pristine condition - it is perfect cosmetically and operationally. Note - At present I ship within 1 week of payment...please note this before bidding.Also Note: Due to problems I am having with packages not making it to their destination, buyers from Italy will have to pay the regular shipping fee PLUS $10.00 to have it registered. Sorry to single out one country - but I have had more items not make it, recently, than those that have.
