AUCTION ITEM : A MUST FOR SERIOUS COCA COLA COLLECTORS !!! First time I have listed this set ! This is an Original 1996 COCA COLA CHESS SET ! It was sold through the FRANKLIN MINT ...I think the original purchase price was around $1,200.00 The set is still New and has never been played with. THIS BEAUTIFUL CHESS SET WAS CREATED AND SOLD BY THE FRANKLIN MINT IN 1996. THE PIECES ARE HAND ENAMELED DESIGNS BASED ON THE ORIGINAL SYRUP DISPENSER OF THE 1890'S. EACH PIECE IS 24 KARAT GOLD PLATED...(Have you checked out the price of gold lately???) ...I have taken a few pieces out of the box so you could see how they look...t is some glare from the camera flash, but all 32 pieces are in mint condition and absolutely awesome.All 32 chess pieces come in their original box, securely stored in their own custom cut slot in soft foam for protection...t is another layer of gray foam that goes on top to keep the pieces from shifting which moving the box around. The Chess Board itself, was not stored in the original box (which I do not have)...the stained glass is in Beautiful condition, but two of the little wooden legs on the bottom of the board are missing as well as one small piece of wood trim...I have pointed out these areas with the Red Arrows...I think you can either remove the other legs for a level playing surface, or could most likely add some small legs of some sort very inexpensively that should barely be noticed if at all since they would be on the bottom of the board...t is also one corner of the wood that has been reglued along the corner edge, but t again, I don't feel these are anything of a really big deal, and I think some light touch up would probably cover that if you even desire to do so...and I almost missed it and it doesn't show up in the photo, but on one of the thin strips of stained glass borders, t is what looks like it might be a tiny split, very minor, I almost missed it and then saw it by holding the chess board up in the air pointed towards a light bulb...it's really almost nothing, but I do like letting my customers know anything I see that would not be considered Perfect. Bottom line is, you are getting this very expensive and Beautiful Collectors Chess Set at an incredible discount. Please ask any questions you might have Before bidding, all sales are final.
