Hudson Bay Knife and Tool Works A Division of Cold Steel You are bidding on a NEW fixed blade Hudson Bay knife , made of Cold Steel's own Carbon-V steel. The knife has a custom-crafted Cocobolo Wood handle and a NEW cowhide leather sheath . I checked with Cold Steel and learned that they are no longer using their exclusive Carbon-V steel in making these blades - production was discontinued in the mid-1990s due to cost - which makes them rather Hard To Find . Carbon-V is one of my favorites due to edge holding and ease of sharpening. I recently bought 4 of these blades. My hobby is adding beautiful, one-of-a-kind, customer-crafted handles. I start with 2 blocks of wood, and shape, sand, and polish it to create unique handles for my knives. This particular handle is Cocobolo Wood , which comes from Central America. This fixed blade knife has an overall length of 11 1/2 ". The blade is 6 3/4 " long (1 1/2 " at the widest part). The blade is embossed with the Hudson Bay picture and logo. The Cocobolo handle is 4 3/4 " long, 1 1/8 " wide, and 3/4" thick. It is held together with 3 brass and stainless steel rivets. The leather sheath is the original from Cold Steel. It is a sturdy cowhide leather with metal brads. It is 10" long and has 2 3/8 " wide belt hole. This sheath has a 5 3/4 " deep plastic liner inside to protect the blade.
