Cold Steel Recon 1 Knife Tanto Part Serrated 27LTH New Factory new in box Cold Steel Recon 1 knife with part serrated tanto blade - model 27LTH. This is the new and greatly improved 2006 version of the knife. The major improvements for 2006 include the upgrade in steel from 420 to AUS-8A Steel and the handle material from Zytel to premium G-10.The Recon 1 is tough as nails and will cut like a chain saw! Every facet of their construction has been over engineered to make them as strong, durable and effective as humanly possible. The blades are made out of AUS 8A stainless steel that's been vacuum heat treated and sub zero quenched, and the handles feature G-10 laminate scales, massively reinforced by heat treated steel liners and five locking bolts. To compliment their super tough blades and handles, they each feature the Ultra Lock, which practically precludes lock failure. The tough black Teflon finish offers three major advantages for use on tactical blades. The first is; it is highly resistant to scratches and abrasions while keeping rust at bay. The second is; it eliminates glare and light reflections which may give its user away. The third is; it's a superior lubricant, which causes the blade to slip through even tough material with markedly less friction.
