"Once Upon A Time" Antiques & Collectibles Item: Tramontina Machete Age: Unknown Country of Origin: From what I've read on the internet, I think the Tramontina machete is made in Brazil. Size: Approximately 28" long overall. The blade is approximately 22" long X 2 1/4" wide (at its widest), and the handle is approximately 6" long X 1" X 1 1/2" wide (at its widest). Markings/Signature: " AE PRO. USA" is stamped on the blade near the handle. The Tramontina name and logo are etched in the plastic handle. Materials: The blade is stainless steel. The handle is made of hard, durable plastic. The sheath is made of soft canvas cloth. Condition: This is what they call New Old Stock, that is, it's not brand-new any longer but it's never been used, so it's in perfect, mint condition. I rescued and refurbished a beat up Tramontina machete about five years ago from a garage sale in Las Vegas, Nevada. I liked the machete so much that I bought four** more just like it at the flea market two or three years later, except they were new old stock, so I didn't have to do anything with the machetes since they were in perfect, mint condition. You can buy a brand new 28" Tramontina machete today for about $15.00 to $30.00 on the internet, so I'm starting my auction bidding at $10.00.
