We are selling our collection of empty rare and fine vintage wine bottles from the 80's, 90's and 00's; all in great shape with labels in good to excellent condition, some with partial or no capsules, all without corks. We had intended to use these bottles as décor in a wine bar that we had hoped to establish; but not having had the opportunity to do so, we are selling them. The bottles are predominately from the very best estates, domaines, chateaux, vineyards and producers of Bordeaux, Rhone, Burgundy, Alsace, Napa, Sonoma, Willamette, Rhingau, Barolo, Barbaresco and Tuscan wines - all in the best vintage years. If the bottles contained their wine, the value would easily exceed $800 per case. Many bottles retail now for over $150 each; and mostly all of the wines were rated 92 and above by the Wine Advocate, International Wine Cellar, Burghound, or the Wine Spectator. Any serious wine lover or collector is in awe of these wines. Just to have the bottles on display would show to them that you know and appreciate the best wines in the world. We can say this without hesitation, because we know wine, and would not have bothered to store empty bottles of average supermarket quality! This auction is for a case of twelve empty bottles.
