These are two very old collector’s spoons from Lebanon.The first one represents the ancient town of Ba’albeck,Lebanon, situated in the Anti-Lebanon foothills, east of theLitani River in the famous Agricultural Beqaa Valley,about 85 Km northeast of Beirut and about 75 km north ofDamascus, Syria. Ba’albeck is home to the famous annualBa’albeck International Festival, which takes place in itsfamous Temple of Jupiter ruins. The town has an elevationof 3,840 Ft.This old spoon features the famous 6 Corinthian columnsstill remaining on the east side of the temple of Jupiter.Made of unknown material, in Lebanon. It has got an historicvalue.Measures 4 3/4” long.The second collector’s spoon represents the country ofLebanon, with its famous Cedar of Lebanon featured on topof its twisted handle. Lebanon, once considered the Switzerland of the Middle East and still is a touristic destination. Neighboring countries are : Syria and Jordan.Measures 4 3/8” long.These two spoons belonged to my cousin, who was anavid traveler more than 4 decades ago.
