NO reserve and perfectly MIB .... Collector Classics by Buby? Read below. Buby, the factory was started by a a group of seriously enthusiastic miniature collectors in the early 1980's in Argentine. They specialized in 1:43 scale American vintage cars and focused on many that were never made before by competitive 1:43 scale manufacturers. They are particularly hard to find in pristine condition like this one as the factory closed its doors in 1990 primarily due to the drastic decline of the Argentine economy. This is a real N.O.S (New Old Stock). and has never been in private hands. It is straight off of the store shelf and left its package for the first time for this photo shoot. The Buby series has many virtues such as a die cast body with resin interior parts, undercarriage and convertible tops. Today we would call them multi-media models as they incorporate the above as well as some spin cast parts. The paint is good and the plating acceptable. Interestingly, Buby not only numbered every model (this is one of 22,000 Studebaker Avantis, which includes all color variations but on the bottom of each car they made their assembly workers sign off. This was a good quality control initiative. Overall the quality is as good as or better than competitive white metal cars made in the UK as well as die cast from Europe. I think they may appreciate in value.This item is not part of my personal collection; it is better.
