THE 1933 BUGATTI TIPO 59 RACE CAR Bugatti was born in Milan from an artist family and he got from them particularly the intuition which enabled him to build the racing cars amongst the most beautiful in the world when he was not quite 18 years old and had not taken up so far any engineering course. He worked for several constructors such as Mathis, Peugeot, Deutz and in 1899 he got his own workshop, in Molsheim near Strasbourg . After the first trial years he built about 10000 cars and 36 different models during the years 1909 to 1930. Amongst many were racing cars which won an outstanding number of races. The Royal Bugatti was built in only 7 speci� men from 1927 to 1933 (about one a year) and was called the King's car and was put on the market as the super-luxury car, as only the body alone was costing $ 30.000 and we are in 1927. The motor bloc was in one piece alone with the top carter and also in one only piece were the aluminum wheels of which the brake drums formed the body and the rays were were short fitted with small cooling fins for the drum itself. The Royal was guaranteed to the owners, and repaired throughout the world free during its whole existence.
