I have for sale a small medal that commemorates the relief efforts of Colonel James Fisk Jr.after the great Chicago Fire of October 8-10, 1871. Fisk organized donations in New York City and shipped them via train to Chicago with an engine names James Fisk Jr.. Fisk was a stockbroker and corporate executive & he was referred to as one of the robber Barons & he was friendly with Boss Tweed. Fisk was shot by a business associate named Edward Stokes on 01/06/1872 and died the next day. The medal looks to be brass with dark areas, it is 15/16 inch in diameter and in Fine condition with a hole at the top rim. Please see my EBAY STORE at TE COLLECTABLES. (7,536)
