This week we have listed 14 auctions. Tokens selling now are from my personal collection. Many were used or will be used for illustration and research in our books . Now that all NS-5A1 are sold, here is the batch of 5 pennies - NS-6A - varieties. I have researched these for many years now and found some die variations among them. However, not as many as I have found among half pennies. I used the same system as with half pennies and recorded varieties according how many dots in each colon, ":", are missing in obverse legend! On reverse, I observed letters in the legend are incomplete due to the broken dies these were struck with. Though more different varieties are available to collectors, I was able to obtain only the 5 varieties listed here - with No Dots Missing and 4 dots missing. This is an interesting series to collect, primarily because these are still relatively inexpensive to obtain! I have not established rarity, but I am sure some are more scarcer than others! This week listed are two varieties, with no dots and with 4 dots missing . Although on some pictures you may see what looks like a dot, in actuallity dot is not there. Only the trace of it shows or a a very small portion, more resembling a speck than a dot. Starting Nov. 20 listings, will be offered 1837 Lower Canada Habitant Bank tokens: City Bank, Quebec Bank, Banque Du Peuple and Bank Of Montreal on ribbons. Will start with half pennies, follow up with pennies till all are sold. Again all will be identified according to Courteau!
