Colonial WW2 Army Navy Pilot Survival Pocket Folding Giant Jack Knife w/SawThis is referred to as a the "Giant Jack Knife" by the Colonial Cutlery Co. It was in use as an aircraft survival knife from late WWII until it was replaced by fixed blade pilot survival knives in the early 1960's. It came in two versions from Colonial. The Army Air Force version with no bail. The Navy version had a bail for a lanyard.The knife was stored in the Survival Vest that the pilots wore on their flight missions.Original WWII US Pilot Survival Knife, Colonial Prov. R.I., Folding Blade & Sawblade.This knife has about 4.75" spear point blade and a 5" saw blade. While closed, this knife is 6" long. With both blades open, overall it is about 15.75 inches. The main blade has a liner lock to secure the blade in the open position. Black plastic scales for grips.CONDITION: good, the spring on the main blade is a little weak, no more wobble than when new, snappy spring on saw blade, The saw tip is broken off. nice and tight, (please see the pictures.)
