One side of this specimen is yellow-orange SW fluorescing Wollastonite crystals with some golden Pyrite mixed in between them, the other has raspberry red SW fluorescent and briefly phosphorescent (flash) Calcite with a coating of pale blue SW fluorescing, weak short lived phosphorescent carbonates . An interesting 3 color fluroescent piece!From Sterling Hill , Ogdensburg, Franklin Mining District, Sussex County, New Jersey Measures approximately 4 x 1 ½ x 3 in and weighs 1 lb 1.10oz / 102 x 38mm x 76mm, 485g To show the fluorescent response the specimen was illuminated using 6 watt 254nm(Short Wave) / 366nm (Long Wave) UVGL-58 lamp (you need a proper UV light source to observe the fluorescence, more powerful lamp = brighter response ).
