The Columbian Orator - Containing a Variety of Original and Selected Pieces; Together with Rules, Calculated to Improve Youth and Others in the Ornamental and Useful Art of Eloquence, by Caleb Bingham. Sixth Troy Edition. Manning & Loring, Boston, 1817. Condition: Fair- antiquarian condition. Binding is sound and original, but the covers are very frail; there are one and a half-inch cracks on both sides of the upper spine, the webbing is exposed on the rear hinge, and heavy wear and darkening to the leather in general. No printing is visible on the covers, and the corners are worn as expected. The leather is worn away from the top centimeter of the spine and and a top inch of front cover. The first free endpaper is torn. Period owner name written on rear pastedown.
