General David Monroe Shoup [1904 1983] was a decorated general of the United States Marine Corps who was the recipient of the Medal of Honor for his actions during World War II. General Shoup was appointed by President John F. Kennedy as the 22nd Commandant of the United States Marine Corps. Listed for auction is the autograph of General David Monroe Shoup signed on a commemorative postal cover. The cover commemorates ''Pearl Harbor'' and is signed ''David M. Shoup'' in black felt tip pen. The cover is postmarked Honolulu, HI Dec 7, 1978, and is affixed with one U.S postage stamp. The cover measures 6.50 x 3.50 inches and is in fine condition.
