is a beautiful scarce Commodore Hotel Butter Pat from the famous New York Central Railroad owned hotel. This pattern is exquisite and exclusive to the hotel. The little butter pat is in great shape (excellent) with no chips or cracks and will look super in a butter pat or railroad china collection. The butter pat looks to be the scarcer Syracuse China version although it is a bit hard to tell as t is no hallmark on back. You also get a very scarce clearly marked Commodore Hotel GLASS SWIZZLE STICK from about the forties. It is in excellent condition also. The picture turned out a bit blurry but the items are looking great. is some history on The Commodore Hotel: New York Central Railroad's "The Commodore" Hotel that was located in New York City. The New York City Commodore's Hotel was considered one of the most famous Hotel's in New York. The Hotel was named after Commodore Vanderbilt, who was the driving force behind the New York Central Railroad. It was opened in 1919, but it appears that the hotel's silver was ordered long before the hotel was opened for business, which was a very normal practice in order to have everything ready in advance for a grand opening.
