ultra rare boxed commodore PET 4032 low serial "000206" kept in the attic in original box since the 80s This as you know is a rare Commodore PET 4032 (upgraded to 32k) confirmed on the box and in BASIC the computer has had only one owner since being sold in its first few hundred units. I've looked into the serial number and this is the lowest registered "000206" most are in the thousands and they are considered low serials. So this came off the belt to the UK within weeks of the factory making them. I imagine only a few were imported that early. the computer serial also matches the original freight box which has the inner poly which is in great shape with no damage. the outer box shipped from (at the time) West Germany is stamped "commodore uk ltd" there's also a sticker with 32k and serial numbers etc (see pics below) what makes this PET special apart from being the only boxed example on eBay worldwide, is that it comes with a huge amount of rare brochures and typed paperwork including a 500page manual! includes 500 page PET "Personal Computer Guide" 55 page original "4000 Users Guide" "Choosing your (commodore) computer" folder which also has 12 double sided A4 colour adverts showing off the 8000 series computers and many more promo catalogs for, printers, disk drives etc (more than i can comprehend) full price list and retailers manual showing the retail of the 4032 at £799 *1981 and my favorite: 7 super cool glossy full colour A4 promo brochures of other rare commodore computers: 700, 8000 business computers, SX-64, 8296, 500series etc... other rare paperwork included, (some even typed) all in 9/10 excellent condition. The condition of the computer is excellent 9/10, even the labels look as crisp as new. The screen is also perfect!. I imagine this is the best example around and will be for some time due to it being kept in the box for many years. this PET has been tested to load games and fully in BASIC - The external rear serial ports all have nice clean contacts and the sound and VDU is bright and clear. iv'e tested all keys and 2 do not respond (S and W) so minor fault to note! *That's the only fault to note *the two unresponsive key contacts could be replaced or perhaps need a clean - i'm not about to start pulling off the keys myself, so i will leave that to the experts. worldwide postage to sellers with good feedback via insured,tracked courier. P lease contact if your country is not quoted I'm sorry but no shipping to Russia - unless it's a business address, its not actually possible otherwise. POSTAGE I would obviously prefer a pick up on this because of the value and 25k weight - although the original box is very sturdy and the fitted poly side panels will keep this safe in transit. UPS are the best and cheapest option at only £20, which is next day delivery. the advantage of this PET is the low serial and the original factory box, which is a piece of history in itself. I will be uploading many more pics showing the excellent condition and labels etc.....any Q? i'll do my best.. I'm not sure of the computers value boxed so I may revise after further research but its unlikely to go down so early offers might be wise (no silly ones please) remember this PET is in the original factory box and one of first few off the belt! so i think that makes it rather unique. read more
