For bid is an estate Comoy's Grand Slam pipe in good condition. This bulldog-style pipe measures about 5 1/4" long and is about 1 3/4" tall to the top of the bowl. Outside measurement at the top of the bowl is about 1 3/16", and inside bowl measurement is about 3/4". This classic pipe has several very clear stampings on it, as follows: "Comoy's Grand Slam Patent", "Made in England", "U.S. Pat. 2001612", the number "4" (a pattern number?), the number 2 with an asterisk in front of it (similar to this...*2), and one star-shaped graphic. In addition, the bit, which has only minor teeth marks on it, has a three-dashed line on one side that is composed of two white dashes with a greenish dash between the two. I hope all this makes sense; it's rather difficult to put into words. This pipe is nicely cross-grained and has considerable birdseye. I cannot discern any fills in it. The top of the bowl is in good shape, with only minor carbon residue. In short, this is a NICE vintage pipe. But please don't hesitate to e-mail me if you have questions or comments. Note: An Internet search conducted after I listed this item revealed that this pipe may have been manufactured between 1933 and 1945. Thanks.
