Up for auction is a gorgeous old Comoy's Tradition Billiard with three part C inlay and circular Made in London over England nomenclature Dimensions : Length: approximately 6 inches Bowl Height: 1 and 7/8 inches Bowl Diameter: 15/16 of an inch Nomenclature: Left Side: Comoys (all capitals, C is larger) Tradition (all same size smaller capitals) Right Side: Made in London (in circle) 352B (serifs) England Description: Great old pipe from Comoy's golden era. A great smoker but just about fifteen sizes too large for me to keep (I ain't a big guy). Bowl is a slightly off center cross cut. Front and back are cross grain, left and right side are birdseye. Shank is wild grain. Top of the bowl shows signs of use--the odd tap-out mark as well as the bowl being slightly out of round from years of smoking and reaming. Nomenclature is crisp and clean. Bowl has darkened to that lovely deep walnut old Tradition's get. Original stem with small three part C inlay intact (the smaller the C, the older the pipe). Stem is in great shape. Very, very light toothmarks will almost certainly buff out. Inlay is in perfect condition. A superlative smoker for someone who loves big honkin pipes. This one ought to make someone very happy!
