This is a solid brass compass/clinometer/sighting instrument, made by Stanley, London. It contains a pointer compass, two spirit levels, an engraved protractor, a rotating platform which moves over the protractor, and two flip-up sights. The interior of the lid has a mirror with a verical sight line, and the outside of the lid is marked 'NATURAL SINE', 'STANLEY LONDON', and has numerical readings in columns and round the edge. This instrument is beautifully made, and has no damage or scratches. The glass and mirror are in perfect condition. It measures approximately 11cms in diameter, and is 15.5cms high with the sights erected. It is heavy, weighing 1.141kgs. (please notice the 50p coin in photo1 to show the scale). This is an excellent piece of read more
