For bid is one of the most interesting knives I've come across in a long time. This is Condor Tool & Knife's Nessmuk pattern fixed-blade outdoor knife with sheath. NEW IN THE BOX. The nessmuk pattern knife dates to about 1884 when George Washington Sears (aka "Nessmuk")wrote a book titled "Woodcraft" that pictured such a knife. To own a nessmuk is to own an interesting and historical knife pattern. Condor knives are made in El Salvador, with company roots going back to 1787 in Solingen, Germany. This full-tang knife measures about 8 5/8" overall, with a 1075 CARBON blade of 4". To me the walnut handle scales with brass pins resemble handles on antique trade knives. The handle is of generous size, fitting larger hands very well. Altogether, this knife is quite comfortable and ergonomic. The blade has a Scandi-type grind, popular with many outdoorsmen. Other than the grind, the blade is satin finished. Because this knife is not expensive, I was surprized at how nice the sheath is--good! This seems to be an extraordinarily tough knife that will stand up to hard work, especially hacking, batoning, and cleaving. You must be at least 18 years old to bid on this outfit.
