CONFEDERATE FLAG CIVIL WAR GETTYSBURG CSA 20th ALA This flag was brought back to Missouri from the 1913 Gettysburg reunion by a veteran of a Union infantry regiment. The family's understanding is that is was obtained from a Confederate veteran t Alas, the details of that transaction have been lost to time. Experts agree that this flag is NOT of the 1860s period, but was produced early in the Twentieth century on a primitive sewing machine. The fabric is quite soiled and faded from long storage, and the unfinished seams show fraying. The colors are not as bright as these images might indicate. However, t are no rips, tears or moth damage. The measurements are 36 X 50 inches. The four sets of ties are intact. Although, as stated above, this flag didn't fly at Gettysburg is 1863, it may well have done so fifty years later. A beautiful and historic relic of a terrible war and of the last great reunion of Civil War veterans. An outstanding gift for for the collector or historian of " The Lost Cause".
