There is much reporting on the Civil War--from the Confederate perspective--including front page items headed: "Latest Appearance of the Enemy--The Enemy Disappointed" "From Richmond--Stonewall Jackson's Victories--Fremont & Shields Both Routed--Jackson Again Watching Fremont" "From Richmond" "Affairs on the Lines" "Arrival of the Wounded Soldiers--The Fight of Tuesday" which includes a list by name; "Yankee Rule in North Alabama" "Editorial Correspondence of Courier" and a bit more. Some Civil War related items are on page 2, while all of page 3 is taken up with various advertisements, many of which are illustrated. The back page has much on the war with items headed: "The Affair at Booneville" "It is Now too late to Retire from the Contest--There is no Retreat but in Chains and Slavery!"
