Connor MacLeod Clan Claymore - Small Sword 28.5 inch The Claymore was carried by many of the great families in Scotland. It was a type of Great Sword, typically a one and a half to two handed sword, that was intimidating as well as dangerous. The character, Connor Macleod, as a member of one of these great families carried the Clan Macleod Great Sword. Clan swords were nearly magical from the power and strength the wielders had put into it while fighting their enemies down through the generations. This beautifully detailed sword design has many traditional Scottish motifs worked into it. It is an excellent reproduction of the sword carried in Highlander though of a smaller size. The pommel is a traditional steel upside-down pear shape seen on many swords of the time this sword emulates. The grip is brown suede wrapped with copper wire. The straight guard is molded with traditional celtic knotwork. A central steel pennant placed in the center of the guard contains the clan name 'Macleod' over a pair of celtic knotwork beasts. This comes with a heavy leather sheath in black with a brown decorative band at the neck and a belt loop. The total length of this sword is 28.5 inches with a blade length of 21 inches. The blade is quite sharp and not recommended for combat use or sword play.
