A darling victorian display! This wonderful inkwell was produced by Conta & Boehme of Germany in the late 1800's. It depicts a mother looking over her son's shoulders, as he is trying on his new trousers. All hand painted with beautiful colors and raised enameling. This figural measures 5 1/2 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches wide and while displays lovely, has suffered some damage. The mother's head has been repaired at the neck and her wrist, other arm and waist have been patched and repainted. The little dog also has been repaired at the waist and feet. Even with the damage, it does not detract and these are very hard to find complete with the base and wells. Most figural inkwells from the 1800's have lost their base or they are missing wells. A very nice set for the collector! ~Please see my other items on auction this week! I do combine shipping and pack very well, thank you for your interest!~
