c1890 Victorian porcelain figural menu holder with a boy wearing a chef's hat, and a long wooden spoon hangs from his waist. Beautifully hand painted with very nice detail. Hand painted flowers decorate the top of the menu, and the base is hand painted with various leaves and foliage. The menu holder is in excellent condition, only one very small flaked chip to the bottom edge of the base. This does not detract at all, but I mention for accuracy. Marked on the base with the Conta Boehme shield stamp- mark #6. The menu holder is pictured on page 226 in Janice Vogel's book on Conta Boehme porcelain. The measurement is 5 1/2" tall by 6" long. Please ask questions if you would like to clarify anything. Good Luck!!! Please take a look at my other listed antique items, I'm happy to combine shippping! |
