THIS IS DEEP ORANGE&BLACK MOTTLED CONWAY STEWART PEN FROM THE 1930'S IN EXCELLENT CONDITION This rare example of an early Conway Stewart is in lovely condition for its long age.It has no chips, cracks, chew marks or scratches. The chrome work to the clip, although worn, polishes up nicely and that to the lever is in good order. The cap screws smoothly and snugly to the barrel and posts well. The beautiful colouring to the body of the pen, that looks like molten lava, has unusually not faded one iota from its original shade and has retained a lovely shine. The overall condition of this very handsome pen can be clearly seen from the high resolution close ups that have been provided. The 14 ct gold Conway Stewart flex nib is superb. It has a medium tip and can make a width of script that can vary anywhere between a fine 0.3mm, on the side stroke, and a double broad 1.8mm , on the down stroke, with flex applied. As it has been correctly set and smoothed it floats across the page and is capable of producing some very elegant and pleasing writing. Having been professionally serviced this classic vintage fountain pen, from one of the best British makers that there has been, can be guaranteed to give many years of trouble free use to its new owner.
