late 19th early 20th century Spode Copland china cup with hand painted finish. It is decorated in an old Chinese type pattern with a ho ho bird perched in one of the two trees with two butterflies flying around. It has a blue scale pattern band to the cup and the saucer. The cup is of a good shape and has a swan neck type handle and even decorated inside the cup. The cup sits on a small low foot and has a flared top rim. The cup measures 3 inches (7.6 cms) high to the top of the handle and 2 7/8 inches ( 7.3 cms) in diameter. The saucer measures 5 1/4 inches (13.3 cms) in diameter. Both pieces are marked to the base with green Spode Copland China, England with a red painted pattern number 4077 and an R above and a Q type painters mark.
