copper alloy token farthing, issued by samuel lydinton of the (mercers arms,)during the mid 17th century (1660 -1 683).this token has been identi fied has a token of samuel ludington, who was mayor of the city of lincoln in 1647 and 1660. there was another samuel ludinton prob ably the s on of the former,who held the office of sheriff in 1681 and may or in1683.
