Due to that, there were many Pirsch apparatus throughout Wisconsin and the rest of the Midwest from the 1940s through the 1970s. The Waukesha Fire Department received Serial #1830 on March 7, 1949. Peter Pirsch & Sons Open Cab Pumper Peter Pirsch was the son of a wagon builder and the founder of Pirsch and Sons, Incorporated, a Wisconsin designer and builder fire engines. Originally manufacturing hand- and horsedrawn ladder trucks, Pirsch and Sons went on to build motorized pumpers, chemical and hose trucks, starting in 1926 with a 150 to 750gpm pumper on a Rambler chassis. Pirsch and Sons continued to manufacture fire trucks for more than 60 years, producing a range of vehicles from articulated ladder trucks to cab-forward and conventional cab models. The last Pirsch and Sons truck was manufactured in 1987, after reorganization forced the company to discontinue its production line. Corgi's 1:50 scale Peter Pirsch fire trucks feature diecast metal chassis and diamond pattern running boards.
