COUROC SERVING TRAY INDEPENDENCE HALL PHILADELPHIA, PA. RARE, LIMITED EDITION FOR JE CALDWELL CO. This is a beautiful vintage, rare and limited edition 1950's Couroc serving tray. A unique tray measuring 18 x 12 1/5 inches. The inlaid design is the indepedence hall at Philadelphia, PA. It is also marked on the back side with gold letters "JE Caldwell CO" and the Couroc raised script. JE Caldwell Co is a luxury good shop in Walnut Street Philadelphia just few blocks away from the Indepenence Hall. The store opened on 1840s and is still open today, and the tray is special order from Calsweel to Couroc. The original Couroc sticker still exists as shown on the photo and states: "INDEPENCE HALL, PHILADELPHIA, PA In this building the UNITED STATES was created on July 4 1976, when the continental congress voted for the declaration of Indepedence. the famous old Liberty Bell first proclaimed the Nation's Freedom. Hand inlaid by master craftsman using shells, coins, woods and metals fused into COUROC"S famous satin black material which is imprevious to alcohol, boiling water and cigarette burns.
