Available here is a highly collectible Confederate Postal Cover with a five cent green Jefferson Davis stamp (Scott Catalogue No. A1). It was postmarked Raleigh, North Carolina, March, 1862, and was mailed to J. H. Powell, Esq. in Goldsboro, North Carolina. This may have been John H. Powell (born ca. 1825) who was a railroad agent in the Wayne County town. It was acquired many years ago directly from a family in Goldsboro. The cover is in very good circulated condition and will be mailed in a stiffened envelope for added protection. Good luck.
