I have 3 different medallions (2 pewter and 1 bronze) by Joe Beeler. They were commissioned by Eddie Basha (Phoenix) in the 1970's and then distributed to friends and business associates as gifts.2 Pewter and 1 Bronze medallion Artist: Joe Beeler Medium: 2 Cast pewter and 1 bronze Each Medallion measures 3-3/8" diameter and weighs a sturdy 276 grams Signed"Joe Beeler" on lower left Condition: Excellent •Portrays a rich, beautiful, soft, time-enhanced patina throughout •Maker's signature present •Signed by Eddie Basha, the beloved Arizona grocer who commissioned Beeler to create this series •Bronze has a heavy tarnish; some collectors prefer an undisturbed, natural patina•Very fine original condition overall; no damage, dings, cracks, loss or repairs •A perfect giftAbout Joe Beeler (1931-2006) Joe Neil Beeler was a painter and sculptor of Western Americana. His father was part Cherokee and Joe Beeler participated with other Native American boys in war dances. He studied art at Tulsa University which was interrupted by the Korean War, after which he completed his studies at Tulsa University and continued at the Art Center School in Los Angeles. His first solo exhibition was at the Gilcrease Museum in 1960. He helped to found the Cowboy Artists of America group in 1965. A close friend of the late Senator Barry M.
