The item for bid is an Unmarked Cranberry Opalescent Art Glass Salt Shaker, w/Original Lid, in the "FERN" pattern that is thought to have been made by the West Virginia Glass Company in the Late 1800's . The shaker has wonderful clarity and pattern detail, and is in EXCELLENT USED CONDITION with the only defect being the lid has lost all of its silver plating exposing the brass metal beneath, and it has a few dents and dings. The shaker measures 3-1/4" tall to the top of the lid, 3" tall without the lid, 1-3/8" diameter across the top rim, 2-1/8" diameter at the widest point, and the concave base is 1-1/2" diameter.
