This unusual vase exhibits a "crawl glaze" in tan and brown, on a black ground. Crawling is where the molten glaze withdraws into islands, leaving patches of the underlying ground visible. This results in a crackle effect. This vase is 7 7/8" high and is in good condition with no chips or cracks. It is not dated. Artist's mark: Cornelius Hartog. Hartog worked at De Porceleyne Fles from 1920 to 1965.
