Here's a different one! Up for grabs is a REPLICA model of the C. Creators oscillating steam engine. Follows are the details - I obtained the engine in a trade and attempted to research the machine. The engine is an authenic replica, cast in bronze, nameplate that states "Man f'd BY | C . CREATORS & Co. Chicago | Pat.QC 10, 1 983 March 20, 1894 G.Kusy, VT 05743" The presentation oak base is stamped on the side "G.Kusy" with a machin ist punch. It turns out that the Zip Code allowed me to locate Mr. G. Kusy - when I called his residence his wife indicated that he was very ill - but, yes , he owned a bronze casting shop and machine shop and yes, did build replica steam engines. That's what I know. So, the engine is a fantastic piece of work. The flywheel , crank , cylinder and supports are cast bronze. The base plate is steel, and a brass air/steam valve is added. The exhaus t is copper tubing. The base is finished, unstained Oak stamped with the builders name. F lywheel diameter: 3.25". Bore: ~7/8", Stroke: ~7/8". The nam eplate appears to be an accu rate reproduction of Creators with excep tion of the builders information. All the bronze has patina that has not been touched. If I were restoring the engine I would replace the steel screws holding the engine to oak base with bronze fasteners, and provide a bronze steam valve. The read more
