This auction is for a Collectible Ashton-Drake Galleries Gene Marshall Doll "Creme de Cassis" ,created by awarding-winning artist Mel Odom, from Ashton Drake Galleries in 1998 retired in 1999. Gene is an expertly crafted, collector-quality vinyl doll with a porcelain-like finish, hand-painted features, and dramatic eyes with hand-applied eyelashes. Her eyelashes are squiggly. She is 15-1/2" tall, made of the heavier weight vinyl, and fully posable. Her red hair is rooted and styled by hand in curls. Her hair is a little mussed, wild, or flat from being stored. Gene is stunning in lilac colored cocktail dress w/black lace overlay & four under layers of black & lilac tulle. Comes w/veiled lilac hat, crystal & black hairpins, beaded bracelet, stud earrings, sling back shoes w/rhinestone accents & hosiery. Circa 1953 - no doll stand. These Gene dolls in all my auctions are from an adult collection. They have been displayed and then stored. never played with or undressed. She is clean and in very nice condition, from a smoke free home. NO box or papers are included. She will be well packed for shipping.
