Crime Does Not Pay #22 from July, 1942. First issue of the title. First ever crime comic.Fair to Good condition with supple off-white pages. Spine roll. Covers detached at bottom staple. Thin 1.5" piece missing from middle spine of covers. Very thin strip of paper loss top spine edge of covers (3" tear/minor paper loss due to bug chew top spine). Small corner creases top left back cover; 1/2" or so corner creases upper right of about half of the interior pages.Aside from the spine roll and defects noted above, book presents nicely for the grade. Listed as "scarce" in the Price Guide. #1 most valuable comic on Overstreet’s Top 10 Crime Comics list.
