M-222 (600) Page Large-Format Illustrated Guide – Very Rare Very deluxe, original large-format guidebook to Dalmatia, the southern Croatian coast, published in Vienna by Alfred Hoelder in 1899. This is the most deluxe “guidebook” to the Croatian coast published while this region was under Austro-Hungarian rule, running to more than (600) pages. Illustrated throughout with photographs and folding color maps. Much larger than a standard guidebook, this is 8vo, or more like the size of a modern hardbound novel. Retaining the original decorated gilt-stamped cloth-covered boards and in beautiful condition, with fabric bookmark bound-in at center. Complete sailing schedule for coastal boats and ferries for 1898/99 laid-in at rear. A rare and beautiful 19th century Croatian guidebook. (16 x 23cm, approx). Packed Weight: Under 2kg.
