This item is approxamantally five pounds of crushed gold ore from Kern County, Ca. This particular ore comes from the Rademacher Mining District. Kern County is Southern California's “Golden County", with over two hundred and seventy six registered gold mines, over 1777000 ounces of gold came from Rademancher Mining District between 1851 and 1959. The District, was organized in the 1890s, and is located east of the Sageland District some 15 miles north of Randsburg and 5 miles south of Ridgecrest. This district was most active in the early 1900s and again in the 1930s, the free-milling gold ore of this district averages an ounce of gold per ton. More than thirty mines exist in this district.
