You are bidding on a very rare first edition copy of Cyrano de Bergerac. This book was published by Lamson, Wolffe, and Company in 1898 and was written by Edmond Rostand. This edition was translated by Howard Thayer Kinsbury and was accepted and played by Richard Mansfield. This copy has a picture of Mansfield in costume with his signature printed underneat. Mansfield was the first actor to play Cyrano in the United States in an all English production of the play. The book also contains an old newspaper article regarding a lecture about the play. The book is bound in a hard cover, red binding with silver lettering . The silver is still bright. The edges do some some wear and the first 3 pages are loose from the binding though the tissue guard is still inserted after the portrait page. No pages appear to be missing. This is an exceptionally rare first edition copy in good condition. The book comes from a smoke free home and is in a protective binding. T is another copy of this book listed on for over $3500.00 in similar condition. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Shipping will be free on this item. Thank you for looking and !
