One of the best known and most popular summertime fun spots in Ontario for most of a century, CRYSTAL BEACH is featured in this excellent folder published in the 1940s. Published by the Photogelatie Engraving Company of Ottawa, this hard-to-find collectible is 4 1/4" x 6" in size. It contains 10 panels inside that unfold accordion-style for viewing. Eighteen captioned color pictures are featured along with two panels that were left blank for correspondence. These panels are unwritten on, as the folder was kept after its purchase and never sent through the mail. Pictures include: * an Erie Coach Lines bus parked outside the gateway entrance to the Crystal Beach amusement park * a view of the midway from the High Bicycle Drive, a park attraction * another view of the midway/ferris wheel with roller coaster in the distance/many people strolling around * closer view of people in the midway area walking towards the ferris wheel * the Crystal Beach promenade area with dance hall in the distance * exterior shot - dance hall ballroom in foreground * two shots of crowds on the sandy beach area opposite Lake Erie * pier shot of swimmers in the lake and sunbathers on shore with a portion of the old "Welcome" sign on one side * three views of the passenger stearmer Canadiana at Crystal Beach, one of them showing passengers being read more
