Long stemmed flowers bunch together in a tall cylindrical ceramic vase. A smaller pot of flowers blossoms with life just to it's left, just behind a large squash and onion. The objects are set in a conventional vertical composition and closely cropped to the edge, elevating the conventional floral scene to a evocative work of art. Various hues of green dominate the image, contrasting with the bright oranges and reds that blend together. A dramatically stylized image, each object is outlined with sharp black line that define their place within the space of the painting. Richly detailed, the artist render each leaf and petal with stunning detail in meticulous and precise brushwork, clearly the hand of a stylistically-gifted artist. Harmonious and rife with expression, the painting manages the precarious balance of learned technique and raw creative impulse. Hanging on a wall, it is sure to explode off the wall with character!
