Up for Auction now: Four Cunard Steamship Line 7x7 inch plates, Ridgeway Potteries England. Very good condition no nicks or chips. Some wear from serving the Queen Mary for many years. Comes with certificate . These items were purchased before the auction in Long Beach . Queen Mary what a history: She was finished being built by Cunard & White Star in 1934, Used for War service 1940 thru 1946, The Queen Mary was recondition July 31, 1947 and for the next 15 years , catered to the social Worlds of all Continents. As the most "luxurious ocean Liner". She became a synonym of elegance, grace, good manners, and superb service. She was bought by the city of Long Beach with the winning bid of 3450,000. This sales contract was a bond that the Queen Mary was never again to be used for trading at sea, but would become a maritime museum, hotel, convention center , restaurants & tourist complex.
