CURTA CALCULATOR Type 1 #53508 1963 - Case Booklet etc This is a rare type 1 Curta calculator. It has the serial number is 53508 which dates it to January 1963. It is complete with its metal case, a computing examples booklet plus an examples leaflet. There is also a fold out instruction leaflet, the business card of the company that supplied the calculator ( Simone Meyer of Geneva ) and a coloured promotional leaflet. The calculator itself is in very good condition, with some light marks to the surface, including a little wear to the knurled rings at the top and bottom, a little darkening of some of the numbers (this could just be handling marks and may be able to be cleaned. There is one very light scratch to the body but this is only noticeable when held at an angle to a strong light. The wear is consistent with normal use. The canister is complete and free from dents or dings but has a number of scuffs to the black finish, especially in the top and the Curta label has wear at the right and left edges . All the sliders and the winder operate very smoothly and accurately. The booklets and leaflets are complete and free from tears, but do have handling marks to the covers.
