PATTERNS FOR PAPERS A SELECTION OF CURWEN PAPERS FROM THE 1920s - 1950s Please This is a lovely little book, published by Webb & Bower in 1988 and now out of print. In the 1920s, the Curwen Press's strikingly attractive pattern papers by English artists and designers such as Paul Nash, Lovat Fraser, Albert Rutherston, Edward Bawden and Enid Marx became fashionable among certain publishing, manufacturing and artistic circles. This book presents a selection of Curwen papers, dating from the early 1920's to the early 1950's held by the Department of Design, Prints & Drawings in the Victoria & Albert Museum. It features 32 colour plates, all of which are full page, some of which are shown here in detail.
