This paint scheme was researched from various historical books, research papers and paintings of Custer and the 7th Cavalry. Within reason, we tried to duplicate the correct color scheme of Custer, the 7th Cavalry Troopers and the Period (check out the YELLOW STRIPE on the pants of some of the Troopers! .... WOW!). We know t are several HISTORICALLY INACCURATE DETAILS (like the sabers) but we tried to recreate (to the best of our ability and affordability) the correct look and dress of the 7th Cavalry ... like the use of the proper Guidons for Custer and the 7th Cavalry at the Battle of the Little Big Horn! ... REMEMBER, THESE ARE TOYS, TOO! ... ENJOY THEM !!! ABOUT DSG COLLECTIBLE MILITARY FIGURES At the end of the 1970's, the BRITAINS Deetail and Herald moldings were sold to the Crovetto family in Argentina. They manufactured toys and produced the BRITAINS British 8th Army, Afika Korps, French Foreign Legion, as well as the 7th Cavalry and Indian figures previously made in Hong Kong on plastic bases. All of the colors used were direct copies of the British and Hong Kong toy lines and they maintained the tradition of only 4 colors per figure. These figures were produced under the BRITAINS banner and were unique to Argentina. However, the toy soldiers were only sold in toy stores, instead of the hobby stores. The figures were too expensive as a toy for children and were not made with enough care as to be appreciated by the collectors or to be exported. A few years ago, the Crovetto family sold the molds to Enrique De Saint George, an energetic, enthusiastic and dedicated Toy Soldier Collector. His company, DSG Plastic Toy Soldiers (DSG), started producing these Deetail figures once again. However, this time the figures are being produced with a very high quality and care, and are directed to the collectors and not necessarily children. These figures are now sold in Argentina in the hobby stores and not the toy shops. The painting of the DSG figures is closely supervised by Enrique himself and he takes great pride in producing the masters for the artists to copy. The paint that is used is the same as the paint used by BRITAINS and applied to the original Deetail range. BRITAINS Deetail limited their use of colors to around 3 or 4 per figure. DSG has no such limitation and, in addition, Enrique has also used different colored plastics to get the maximum use of the molds, making very interesting variations and transformations to the original sets. W else could you buy factory produced and painted Deetail British Infantry representing the Burma Campaign, WW II German Mountain Troops and SS Troops, Rough Riders, Australian Army Troops and more?!!! We know Enrique personally and we know the care that he puts into the production of these sets. The painter's attention to detail is breathtaking and, some say, superior to the originals. Finally, the great advantage is the low cost of these figures and the fact that they are only produced by Enrique and DSG! are some COMMENTS we have received from collectors and enthusiasts who have bought our DSG Military Figures and our "exclusive" ARROW and TROOPER 7th Cavalry Figures: AWESOME FIGURES!
