Every freight car has a story! MILW 29487 is a 40’ 50 tonsteel boxcar equipped with an 8’ sliding door and a 6’ plug door. It was constructed by General American Car in 1958. These cars usually hauled lumber east and general merchandise west, and were seen across the U.S. and Canada until the early 1980s. The model is from a new CB&T kit, and has been assembled, upgraded and accurately painted in boxcar red with large Milwaukee Road logo and lettering in white. Features free-rolling new Proto 2K painted metal wheel sets, KD running board and brake wheel and #5 couplers. Details include free standing ladders with A-Line wire corner stirrups and grab irons. The car is from my personal equipment collection for a layout that was built, but never wired. Customizing cars became a more satisfying endeavor. You can’t beat the price! Satisfaction guaranteed.
