You are looking at a custom hand made hammer forged Bull Nose Skinning knife made by Bobby Fleming, full time knife maker out of North Carloina. His mark and year made is on the blade. Blade is made from L6 saw blade, heated over an Oak fed forge and hammered into shape to take on the apperance of a vintage Mountain Man knife. You can see the hammer marks. This is a very good durable steel and am told by users that it takes and holds an edge very well. Although this is a high carbon steel, it doesn't rust like one would think it would. I am not saying it won't rust, but I have seen knives made out of a multitude of steels, and a lot of them rust easier and quicker than some other kinds of steel. This Bull Nose is new, never used, carried or sharpened since it left Bobby's work bench. It is very sharp, a full tang knife that is 8" overall with a 3-3/4" blade. The bolster is brass, the pins that attach the handle scales are also brass. The scales are Walnut (I think) and have a red liner. The spine of the knife has thumb notches for more precise cutting and file work to the tip. This knife comes with a heavy horse hide leather belt sheath.
